The Bunny Hive to Open First DMV Location

The Bunny Hive, a social club for young children and their caregivers, will open its first DMV-area location in Bethesda on September 27 with a free grand opening event featuring playtime, arts and crafts, treats, and tours.

The 1,473-square-foot studio offers classes for children from two weeks old through kindergarten, seasonal events, and private rentals, with memberships, class packs, and drop-in options available.

The Bunny Hive is known for its warm, inclusive approach to early childhood enrichment. The space is thoughtfully designed to help caregivers enjoy quality time with their little ones while building connections with a supportive local community. The studio offers a variety of 30-minute classes for children from two weeks old through kindergarten, including music, art, sensory play, baby massage, toddler ballet, and more—all designed to nurture development and meaningful relationships for both children and their grownups.

The 1,473 sq. ft. Bethesda studio is owned by Jordan Smith, Silver Spring resident and mom of two daughters ages two and two months. With a background in marketing and studio management, Jordan saw the impact of connection while leading community-focused yoga spaces. Inspired by motherhood, she wanted to create a welcoming “third space” in Bethesda where families can feel supported and at home.

“After having my first daughter, I immediately felt the need for community during that major life transition,” says Jordan. “I wanted to create a space in Bethesda where parents can connect, feel supported, and build friendships that last beyond the early years.”

In the main space called “The Hive,” little ones can explore slides, a play tent, ball pit, cushioned blocks, dress-up items, and more. A dedicated studio room features a toddler bar for classes, while communal and kid-sized tables create a cozy, home-like setting. The studio also includes a bathroom with a diaper changing station. In addition to daily classes, members can enjoy seasonal events like a Halloween social, daddy-daughter Valentine’s dance, Easter celebrations, and story time with Santa, as well as expert-led experiences on topics like sleep and nutrition.
