A Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) station manager in Silver Spring has become a social media sensation for his quick thinking and dedication to customer safety during a recent storm (video below).
The incident, which took place last month, saw the manager go above and beyond to assist passengers after heavy rain caused water to flood parts of the station.
The heartwarming story went viral after Metro shared a video highlighting the manager’s actions. The post is titled, “in a world where you can be anything, be kind.”
According to the post, the station manager “sprang into action” to help customers navigate the wet and potentially slippery floors. While the manager was busy assisting people, Metro’s facilities team was also on site, working quickly to clean up the water. The post, which garnered thousands of likes and shares, praised the unnamed manager’s commitment, stating, “We’re here for you – rain, sleet, or snow.”
