Spirit Halloween recently opened one of its first Maryland locations of the season in the former Party City space at Westfield Wheaton (11160 Veirs Mill Rd.). The seasonal retailer also plans to open a location in nearby Frederick, at 1003 W Patrick St., C, in the space that was previously home to JoAnn Fabrics.
Additional confirmed Spirit locations in Montgomery County this year include 30 Grand Corner Avenue at Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront and the former Buy Buy Baby space at 1683 Rockville Pike in Congressional Plaza. There is no word yet on whether the retailer will return to its previous location at 13822 Georgia Avenue in Aspen Hill, where it operated last year.
Spirit Halloween stores typically open in late August or early September, offering a limited-time shopping opportunity for costumes, decorations, animatronics, makeup, and accessories. The company operates more than 1,400 stores across North America each season, with its website remaining open year-round to offer its full range of products online.
