The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating a shooting in the 700 block of University Boulevard East. in Silver Spring that left a 17-year-old male dead.
According to MCPD, “On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District officers and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of shots fired, followed by a call for a person down in the roadway.
Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old male who was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers located two additional victims at the scene of the crime who were not injured.
The decedent has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the official cause and manner of death.
There are no suspects in custody at this time and no suspect information is available. This is an active and ongoing investigation.”
