Esvin’s Bagels and Cafe Expected to Open This Fall

A new family-owned bagel shop and cafe is set to join Bethesda’s culinary scene this fall at Montgomery Mall. Esvin’s Bagels and Cafe expects to open its doors this fall, in approximately two months, bringing freshly baked bagels and more to the community. The cafe will be located on the lower level across from Kapow Buddy, near the Old Navy and Cheesecake Factory area.

At the heart of Esvin’s is a story of passion being passed down from father to son. The cafe is the first major venture for Esvin Jr., an emerging young chef who is using this opportunity to launch his culinary career. Inspired by his father’s years of dedication to food and his beloved recipes, Esvin Jr. is now bringing his own vision to the forefront. “This is more than just a café, it’s the start of my story as a chef,” said Esvin Jr. He explained that his father’s recipes, particularly the Healthy E sandwich, inspired him to continue the family tradition while adding his own flair.

Esvin’s takes pride in its carefully crafted menu, which will feature bagels baked throughout the day to ensure peak freshness. The cafe’s signature sandwiches are expected to be a highlight, each built on a foundation of these hand-rolled bagels:

• The Mavis: A classic sandwich designed for maximum flavor.
• Esvin’s Chimichurri: A bold and zesty creation that infuses South American flavors into every bite.
• The Healthy E: A tribute to Esvin Jr.’s father, this sandwich is a health-conscious option that doesn’t compromise on savory satisfaction.

Esvin’s will be more than just a place for breakfast. The cafe plans to offer a full flavor experience with a diverse selection of beverages and pastries. Guests can expect to enjoy refreshing aguas frescas inspired by Latin traditions, creamy, made-to-order shakes, and a variety of artisan pastries baked fresh daily.

Esvin’s is designed to be a convenient and community-focused spot. Once open, customers will be able to stop in to enjoy the neighborhood-friendly space or place an order online through Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub. Once open, the current plan is for operating hours to be 7am-9pm, seven days a week.
