A $1 million second-tier winning Powerball ticket was sold at BP Gas Station on Reisterstown Road in Pikesville for the Sept. 3 drawing and remains unclaimed as of September 8.
Though the jackpot was not hit in Maryland, Powerball players in the state won more than $13.4 million in prizes in the 42 drawings since the previous jackpot was hit on May 31, including 37 prizes ranging from $50,000 to $1 million. Additionally, with roughly 25 cents of every dollar from Lottery sales directed to state programs and services, sales of Powerball tickets during the jackpot roll generated an estimated $14.5 million in state funding.
