Montgomery County’s own comic and cosplay festival, RisuCon, will return on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The convention will run from 10am to 8pm and promises a full day of activities celebrating anime, comics, cosplay, and pop culture.
The event will feature over 125 artists and vendors, a dedicated Cosplay Barn and Cosplay Contest, an Activity Room, and a game room with tournaments. Attendees can also look forward to anime screenings, group photos, panels, and appearances by major cosplay groups from the region.
More than just a celebration of fandom, RisuCon is dedicated to building community and supporting creativity. The organization invests in educational grants, provides support for artists and students, and hosts events that bring people together across different backgrounds. Their annual convention is considered the cornerstone of these efforts, creating a space for learning, collaboration, and fun. “RisuCon is all about fostering a vibrant and inclusive community,” organizers shared. “We’re excited to bring fans together to connect, create, and celebrate everything from anime and cartoons to comics and cosplay.”
