A major house fire had led to the closure of part of Longmeade Crossing Drive in Aspen Hill/Silver Spring on Saturday afternoon, according to Montgomery County Police.
The incident was reported around 12:30pm, prompting a response from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) and MCPD’s 4th District officers. Authorities said the stretch of Longmeade Crossing Drive between Homecrest Road and Ladymeade Drive was shut down as crews worked at the scene.
As of 1pm, police confirmed no injuries had been reported in connection with the fire. Drivers in the area were advised to seek alternate routes and expect significant delays while emergency personnel remained on site. Further details about the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not yet been released.
