Montgomery County Man Arrested For Hit and Run Involving Pedestrian in Leesburg

The Leesburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating a hit and run crash in which a pedestrian was struck while in a crosswalk. A Montgomery County man has been arrested for the crime.


According to Leesburg Police, “On Friday, September 12, 2025, at approximately 7:52 pm, a male driving a dark colored SUV struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk on E. Market Street at King Street and left the scene.

Officers were able identify the driver and warrants were obtained for hit and run causing injury and failure to yield to a pedestrian.  Todd Stevens, 56, of Germantown, Maryland, was located at his residence and arrested with the assistance of the Montgomery County Police Department.  Stevens is currently being held in Montgomery County pending extradition. The pedestrian sustained minor injuries.
