Nasir Wilkinson, 23, of District Heights, was sentenced in Montgomery County Circuit Court to 35 years in prison for attempted first-degree murder and witness retaliation. Wilkinson had already been serving time for a 2024 stabbing in Germantown and received additional prison time after sending threatening letters to the victim and a family member in 2025.
According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “On March 26, 2024, the defendant stabbed an adult male victim multiple times, leaving him for dead in the 20300 block of Notting Hill Way in Germantown. The victim sustained grave injuries but due to immediate medical intervention, he survived. Wilkinson pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder on October 13, 2024. Judge Ayres subsequently sentenced Wilkinson to 20 years in prison, suspending eight years to serve.
While in prison, in April of 2025, Wilkinson sent letters to the stabbing victim, and a family member of the victim. The letter to the victim began with “To the Snitch,” and ended with “#ALL RATS DIE.” The letter included the statement “I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!” Wilkinson was charged with witness retaliation in July of 2025 and pleaded guilty on September 11, 2025. Today, Judge Ayres imposed the remaining suspended time on his sentence for the attempted murder case and sentenced Wilkinson to an additional 15 consecutive years for the witness retaliation.
Assistant State’s Attorneys Peter Larson and Joanna Chung prosecuted this matter.
“Witness retaliation is a serious issue, and we appreciate the judge issuing an appropriate sentence. Holding defendants accountable for retaliation is essential, not only to protect victims but to send a clear message that attacks or threats against those who cooperate with law enforcement will not be tolerated,” said State’s Attorney John McCarthy.”
