The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) announced Sunday that a death investigation in North Bethesda is now being treated as a homicide.
At approximately 7:43 a.m., officers from the 1st District responded to the 5900 block of Montrose Road for a reported death. Upon arrival, police located an adult male inside of an apartment. MCPD confirmed later in the morning that the case has been reclassified as a homicide. The department’s Major Crimes Division is on the scene conducting the investigation.
“The scene is secure. This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” MCPD said in an alert issued at 9:13 a.m.
No additional details have been released about the victim, possible suspects, or circumstances surrounding the case. Police say more information will be provided as it becomes available.
