Royal Durbar, New Nepali Restaurant, Now Open in Rockville

A new spot for authentic Nepali cuisine has officially arrived in Rockville. Royal Durbar is now open daily from 11:30am–9:00pm. The restaurant has taken over the space that was most recently home to Damso Korean BBQ at 1319 Rockville Pike in the Woodmont Station shopping center. The space was previously occupied by Saffron Indian Cuisine.

Royal Durbar expands the area’s already rich and varied dining scene. The menu features a mix of traditional Nepali favorites, including momos (Nepalese dumplings), curries, and flavorful stir-fries that highlight the use of aromatic spices and fresh ingredients. The restaurant aims to create a casual yet welcoming dining experience that introduces more Montgomery County residents to Nepalese cuisine.

In addition to its current offerings, Royal Durbar will soon be adding alcoholic beverages. The restaurant has a scheduled alcohol license hearing with Montgomery County’s Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) on October 2, paving the way for an expanded drink menu to complement its food. Additional information can be found on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
