The MD Department of Natural Resources and Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) have announced a $1.5 million development project for Gunner’s Lake Park in Germantown.
Several of the park’s existing amenities will be reconfigured and improved, including the pavilion, playground, and athletic fields. In addition to those upgrades, the project will add a new walking track and an adult fitness area, giving visitors even more ways to stay active outdoors.
The improvements are also set to make the park more accessible. Enhanced pathways will better connect nearby neighborhoods directly to the park, encouraging more residents to walk or bike in to enjoy its facilities.
Gunner’s Lake Park, located off Wisteria Drive, has long been a popular community spot in Germantown. With the planned updates, officials hope to provide an even better space for recreation, exercise, and gatherings for families across Montgomery County.
