Two Maryland Restaurants Make Eater DC’s “Best Happy Hour List”

Two Maryland restaurants, both in Montgomery County, have been recognized among the best places to unwind in the region by earning spots on Eater DC’s “Best Happy Hours” list.

At J. Hollinger’s (8606 Colesville Rd.) in Silver Spring the happy hour runs from 4 p.m. to close in the bar area Tuesday through Sunday, giving guests a chance to indulge in oysters for just $1 apiece alongside cocktails, wine, and beer priced between $5 and $10. Seasonal crushes, like peach, apple, and pumpkin, add a creative twist to the lineup, while snacks such as oyster sliders and wings keep the bar lively. The Silver Spring restaurant, already well known for its seafood and steaks, has quickly become a favorite happy hour destination.

In Bethesda, Aventino Cucina (4747 Bethesda Ave.) brings Roman flair to its bar program with a daily happy hour from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Guests can sip on $8 martinis, spritzes, Negronis, and wines while pairing them with small plates like prosciutto with pizza bianca or a burger with truffle aioli. From Monday through Thursday, diners can also take advantage of a $22 deal that combines a classic Roman pasta with an Aperol spritz, offering an approachable entry point to the restaurant’s acclaimed menu.

The recognition from Eater DC highlights the growing presence of Montgomery County restaurants on the region’s dining map, with both Silver Spring and Bethesda proving they can hold their own against the city’s most popular destinations.
