Police Locate Vehicle and Driver in Fatal Wheaton Hit-and-Run

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) announced that detectives have located the silver 2012 Audi A4 and its driver involved in the September 23 fatal hit-and-run in Wheaton that killed 52-year-old Ganga Prajapati of New Carrollton.

According to MCPD, “Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit have located the vehicle and driver involved in the Wheaton September 23 fatal hit-and-run that resulted in the death of 52-year-old Ganga Prajapati. On the afternoon of Friday, September 26, 2025, investigators with the Collision Reconstruction Unit located the suspect vehicle and driver in Laurel, MD. The vehicle is a silver 2012 Audi A4. The driver was located, and charges are pending further investigation. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.”

Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are continuing to investigate the incident, which occurred at approximately 7:27 p.m. near Veirs Mill Road and Ennalls Avenue. Prajapati was struck and fatally injured before being transported to a local hospital, where she later died of her injuries.
