Pike District Partnership Elects New Board President and Leadership Team

The Pike District Partnership announced the election of Andrew Shulman as its new board president, along with a new executive committee and three additional board members to help guide the organization’s next phase of growth in North Bethesda.

Per the Pike District Partnership: “The Pike District Partnership (PDP) proudly announces the election of Andrew Shulman as President of its Board of Directors. Shulman succeeds Matthew Herrmann, who has served as the organization’s first board president since its founding. Previously Vice President of the Board, Shulman has played an instrumental role in guiding the Partnership since its inception.

A longtime advocate for the Pike District, Shulman helped shape the Partnership’s early strategy and has been a consistent voice for smart growth, placemaking, and building a strong business and residential community. He also serves as the Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce liaison and was instrumental in advocating both for the renaming of the North Bethesda Metro station and for the planned second station entrance. His deep knowledge of North Bethesda and years of service on the PDP board uniquely position him to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact.

“I’m honored to step into this role at such a pivotal moment for the Pike District,” said Shulman. “We’ve built a strong foundation, and now it’s time to accelerate our momentum. Working together with our partners, businesses, and residents, the PDP will champion smart growth, strengthen community connections, and position North Bethesda as one of Montgomery County’s most dynamic and vibrant destinations.”

Shulman is joined on the Executive Committee by current board member Silvanna Valencia as Vice President, returning board member Anna Behnam as Treasurer and Arash Soheili as Secretary. The Executive Committee terms will run through December 2026.

The PDP also welcomes three new board members:

  • Neil Burka, At-Large Board Member
  • Ryan Metzroth, Willco, Small Property Owner Board Member
  • Gloria Aparicio Blackwell, Institute for Health Computing/University of Maryland, Large Business Board Member

“This is a moment of continuity and renewal for the Partnership,” said Theresa Cameron, Executive Director of the PDP. “Andy and our new Executive Committee bring both experience and vision, and our incoming board members add fresh perspectives and expertise. Together, this leadership team is well-prepared to guide the Pike District through its next chapter and ensure that our community continues to thrive.”
