After a few months of no movement, Dave’s Hot Chicken is officially on its way to Rockville, with “Coming Soon” signage now up at its second Montgomery County location. The California-based chain, which made its county debut in White Oak in November 2024, will soon open at 11564 Rockville Pike in the Metro Pike Shopping Center. An exact date is not yet available.
The new restaurant is taking over the space formerly occupied by McDonald’s, which recently relocated to the old Arby’s spot up the road at 11710 Rockville Pike. The fast-growing hot chicken brand has been turning heads nationwide, thanks in part to high-profile celebrity investors such as Drake and Samuel L. Jackson. Dave’s first DMV location opened in Washington, DC’s Columbia Heights neighborhood in March 2023, and the brand has since quickly expanded throughout the region.
Founded as a late-night food stand in Los Angeles in 2017, Dave’s Hot Chicken has grown to over 100 franchise locations across the country. The menu features chicken tenders and sliders spiced to order, with heat levels ranging from “Lite Mild” all the way up to the fiery “Reaper.” Classic sides like crinkle-cut fries, creamy mac & cheese, and hand-spun milkshakes round out the offerings.
