Gaithersburg’s Jordan Addison Catches Game-Winning Touchdown in London

Gaithersburg native Jordan Addison made the play of the day in London on Sunday morning, catching the game-winning touchdown in the Minnesota Vikings’ 21-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Addison, who surprisingly did not play a single snap in the first quarter due to what the Vikings called a “coach’s decision,” finished the game with five receptions for 41 yards and the decisive score that lifted Minnesota to a 3-2 record.

Addison was born in Gaithersburg before his family moved to Frederick County, where he attended Tuscarora High School. He went on to star at the University of Pittsburgh, winning the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver in 2021, before transferring to USC for his final college season and becoming a first-round pick of the Vikings in 2023.

His late-game heroics in London continue to build on what has already been a strong start to his NFL career, and Montgomery/Frederick County football fans have one more reason to celebrate this weekend.
