The City of Gaithersburg’s signature fall celebration returns Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 12pm to 5pm, as the Kentlands neighborhood transforms into a vibrant Bavarian-style village for the 32nd annual Oktoberfest. The community event draws tens of thousands each year for an afternoon filled with music, food, and family fun.
Multiple stages will feature live entertainment throughout the day, including traditional Bavarian music and dancing alongside performances by local, regional, and national acts. Visitors can also enjoy fall-themed activities for families, browse artisan vendors, explore the popular Business Expo, and sample a wide array of food and beverages. Offerings include beer, mead, cider, and even non-alcoholic options for all ages.
Oktoberfest has welcomed as many as 30,000 attendees in past years, making it one of the largest annual events in the region. Admission, parking, and shuttle service are all free to the public, ensuring accessibility for everyone.
Road Closures: To accommodate the festival, several Kentlands streets will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. and will reopen at approximately 9 p.m. The following streets will be affected:
- Kent Square
- Selby Street
- Main Street (from Midtown to Market Street West)
- Kentlands Boulevard (both circles; no circle traffic from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
- Kentlands Boulevard (crossovers), including 7-Eleven and Whole Foods parking lot entrances
- Firehouse Lane (from Leekes Lot Way to Inspiration Lane)
- Hart Road (between Booth Street and Firehouse Lane)
- Inspiration Lane (from Main Street to Golden Ash Way; between Briscoe and Selby Streets)
- Inspiration Lane (from Firehouse to Briscoe Street and Golden Ash Way to Selby Street)
