Genki Wagyu Shabu House has announced that its highly anticipated Rockville location is “opening soon,” sharing the update in a new social media post that has caught the attention of local diners. The post read, “Get ready, Rockville !!!—Genki Wagyu Shabu House is opening soon!”
A representative for the restaurant tells The MoCoShow that they are aiming for an early 2026 opening, likely in January or February, at the corner of Festival Street and Rockville Pike in Rockville’s Twinbrook Quarter, next to the new Wegmans.
As previously reported, the Rockville restaurant will be an all-you-can-eat Wagyu concept offering shabu-shabu, sukiyaki, and premium sushi. Genki currently operates Genki Izakaya in Fairfax, Virginia, and plans to bring the same high-end experience to Montgomery County.
According to the restaurant, guests can expect “the finest unlimited Wagyu Shabu-Shabu, Sukiyaki, and premium Sushi experience,” featuring high-grade Wagyu beef sliced for the perfect hot pot, an assortment of broths, and sushi made with the freshest ingredients.
The Rockville opening will mark Genki’s first Maryland location and add another premium dining option to the rapidly developing Twinbrook Quarter.
