Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a house fire Thursday morning in the 25000 block of Woodfield School Road near Hawkins Creamery Road in Damascus.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire, which started in a bedroom of a two-level single-family home, displaced 11 people, including five adults and six children, but caused no injuries. Officials said the occupant closing the bedroom door helped limit damage estimated at more than $25,000.
