Two of the region’s hottest food brands are teaming up for a creative new crossover. Steezeburger, named the number one burger in the DMV (D.C., Maryland, and Virginia) by The Washington Post, is collaborating with PhoWheelz, the popular Vietnamese fusion spot that opened its Burtonsville restaurant earlier this year, to create a Steezeburger taco available for a limited time from October 24 through November 30.
The collaboration was announced on social media with the post, “Pop up and collab starts October 24th till end of November! MAKE UR NEXT MOVE UR BEST MOOOVEEEE!” The limited-time item will feature a burger wrapped in roti, topped with melted American cheese, diced onions, and Steezeburger’s signature sauce , blending Steezeburger’s smash-burger style with the PhoWheelz signature roti taco format.
Steezeburger, created by Hunter Karametos, gained national attention after being ranked as the top burger in the region by The Washington Post in 2023. Known for its perfectly seared patties, melted cheese, steamed onions, and signature Steez Sauce, the brand has built a cult following through pop-ups and its commitment to simple, high-quality ingredients. The Washington Post praised the burger for its flavor balance and consistency, calling it “the DMV’s best example of how simplicity and precision can make a perfect burger.”
PhoWheelz has become a local favorite for its modern Vietnamese street food, offering items like pho, bánh mì, and its popular roti tacos. The Burtonsville restaurant, located at 15707 Old Columbia Pike in the Burtonsville Crossing shopping center, is the brand’s first brick-and-mortar location in Maryland. The restaurant also features one of the area’s only Vietnamese drive-thru concepts, expanding on PhoWheelz’s successful food truck and kiosk model that originated in the D.C. area.
The Steezeburger taco collaboration combines both brands’ signature elements and is expected to draw heavy attention from food enthusiasts across the region. Fans of both Steezeburger and PhoWheelz can look forward to trying the fusion creation beginning October 24, with availability running through the end of November at PhoWheelz in Burtonsville.
