A major renovation project is officially underway at Stedwick Pool and Bathhouse in Montgomery Village. According to the Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF), construction has begun, marking the start of a complete overhaul of one of the community’s most popular summer amenities. The newly upgraded heated pool is anticipated to open in summer 2026.
The Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF) Board of Directors approved the comprehensive project earlier this year, following months of planning, resident feedback, and Recreation Committee review. The renovation will include a full redesign of the pool area and bathhouse, as well as new shade structures, ADA accessibility upgrades, and improvements to the adjacent community center.
When complete, the new Stedwick Pool will feature a diving well, eight 25-meter lap lanes, an entry ramp for accessibility, a spacious sun shelf with lounge chairs, a hydrotherapy area, and extensive shaded seating. The pool will remain heated, popular feature among residents, allowing for an extended swim season.
Per MVF: The MVF Board authorized Executive Vice President Mike Conroy to finalize a contract with Keller Brothers, Inc. for the $4.58 million renovation, funded primarily through Designated User (DU) Reserves. Additional enhancements, including shade structures and community center improvements, will be funded by Capital Contribution Fees (CCF), bringing the total project allocation to approximately $4.83 million, with an added 5% contingency for unforeseen expenses.
Officials expect the newly renovated facility to reopen in May or June 2026. Once completed, the Stedwick Pool is expected to serve as a revitalized centerpiece for Montgomery Village summers, blending modern amenities, accessibility, and comfort for residents of all ages.
