Main Entrance to Popular 9.54 Acre Gaithersburg Park to Temporarily Close for Repairs

The main entrance to Pleasant View Park from Darnestown Road will be closed from October 27 through November 5, 2025, to accommodate scheduled repair work, according to the City of Gaithersburg.

While the entrance undergoes improvements, the park will remain open to visitors, with pedestrian access available only from Marsh Lane. Vehicle entry and parking through the Darnestown Road entrance will not be possible during the closure.

Opened to the public in the fall of 2024, Pleasant View Park is a recently-added gem in the City of Gaithersburg’s parks system. It is the city’s 30th park and spans approximately 9.54 acres on the site of the former Consumer Product Safety Commission facility at 10901 Darnestown Road.

The City of Gaithersburg has thanked the community for its patience and understanding as crews complete the necessary maintenance work. The temporary closure is expected to improve long-term safety and accessibility for park visitors.
