The Best Buy Outlet in Bowie will permanently close its doors on November 1, 2025, according to a company representative.
Reader Christopher Fancher first alerted us to the news, which was later confirmed by Best Buy in an official statement. The message from a Best Buy representative read, “they have confirmed that their store is being decommissioned as of Nov. 1, 2025.”
The location, situated at Bowie Town Center in Prince George’s County, originally operated as a traditional Best Buy before closing on September 21, 2023. It later reopened in the spring of 2024 as a Best Buy Outlet, specializing in discounted and open-box electronics, major appliances, and refurbished items.
The closure marks the end of Best Buy’s short-lived outlet presence in Maryland. Following the closure, the Manassas, Virginia store will remain the only Best Buy Outlet in the Washington, D.C. metro area with no plans to close that store at the moment.
No details have been shared on what might replace the Bowie location or whether affected employees will be transferred to other Best Buy stores.
