Arson Arrest Made Following Rockville Fire

An adult has been arrested and charged following Tuesday evening’s fire at the Bethesda Park Condominiums on Braxfield Court near Parklawn Drive in Rockville.

According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the suspect faces one count of first-degree arson, one count of threat to burn, and one count of reckless endangerment. Investigators determined the fire originated on the third floor and was intentionally set.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the scene with approximately 65 firefighters after flames were reported coming from a third-floor apartment. The fire was quickly extinguished, and several residents were assisted from the building. One person from an adjacent unit was transported with non-life-threatening injuries, and several families were displaced.
