Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) 3rd District Commander Jason Cokinos reports that officers stopped a vehicle around 9:30 p.m. on October 31 in the area of Castle Blvd and Briggs Chaney Rd in Fairland after observing it driving without headlights.
Four occupants were inside the car, and officers noticed one passenger making suspicious movements before spotting a handgun in plain view. When officers attempted to remove the passenger, the individual began fighting with them, and a second firearm was felt in the subject’s waistband during the struggle.
All occupants were eventually taken into custody without anyone being injured. Two loaded handguns were recovered at the scene, and Commander Cokinos noted that the actions of the occupants created a dangerous situation for both officers and those inside the vehicle.
