City of Gaithersburg Honors Military Service with Veterans Day Ceremony

The City of Gaithersburg will honor the service and sacrifice of the nation’s military personnel during its annual Veterans Day Observance on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 11am. The community ceremony will take place at the City Hall Concert Pavilion, located at 31 S. Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg.

The event will pay tribute to all U.S. military veterans and active-duty service members who play a vital role in protecting the nation and its future. The patriotic ceremony will feature words, music, and reflection, followed by a solemn wreath-laying ceremony led by city officials and local veterans organizations.

The Gaithersburg High School NJROTC will present the colors, and Junior Mayor Naman Kedilaya will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and recite the poem “The Noble and the Brave.” The Gaithersburg Chorus will perform the National Anthem, and the Gaithersburg High School Jazz Ensemble will provide musical selections honoring the day’s significance. Ben Bringhurst, a member of the Gaithersburg High School Band, will conclude the ceremony with a performance of “Taps.”

Three local organizations, Operation Second Chance, Rockville Lions Club, and Anchored4Vets, will host resource tables during the event to share information and offer support for veterans and their families. A reception with refreshments, courtesy of Mackie’s Barbecue Co., will follow the observance in the City Hall Gallery.

This year’s guest speaker is Chief Master Sgt. Sharese N.
