Metro Honors Veterans With Patriotic Trains And Buses For Veterans Day

Metro has announced it will be honoring the men and women who have served the country this Veterans Day with a special patriotic train, bus, and MetroAccess vehicle serving customers throughout the region.

Per WMATA: Metro is especially proud of the many veterans who work for the agency. As one of the region’s largest employers, nearly 25% of its workforce has served our country in the military. In recognition of their service and the contributions of all veterans in our community, Metro will feature red, white, and blue stars and stripes vehicle wraps until the end of November.

You can find the vehicles on our live tracker at wmata.com/live and clicking on “Special Edition.” Service information for Tuesday, November 11. On Tuesday, November 11, Metrorail will operate from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. with normal weekend frequencies.

Metrobus will operate on a Saturday Supplemental schedule. All buses that normally run on Saturday will operate in addition to selected routes. Check timetables or use Metro’s trip planner at wmata.com for schedules to travel on the observed holiday.

On MetroAccess, subscription trips will be canceled on Tuesday. Customers wishing to travel on the holiday should make a separate reservation online or by calling 301-562-5360 (TTY 301-588-7535).

Normal weekday fares will be in effect. Parking will be free at all Metro-owned parking lots and garages.
