HOT 99.5’s Intern John and The MoCoShow’s very own “Mr. MoCo” Alex Tsironis will host this year’s Light Up the Lakefront at Rio in Gaithersburg on Saturday, December 6th, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Presented by HOT 99.5, the free holiday event promises an evening filled with live music, glowing lights, fireworks, and festive fun along the Rio lakefront.
The celebration will take place across two main areas, the Boardwalk by Guapo’s and Charley Prime Foods, and the Fire Lounge between True Food Kitchen and Uncle Julio’s. Guests can enjoy DJ sets and music from HOT 99.5 at the Boardwalk Stage and 97.1 WASH-FM at the Fire Lounge. The event will also feature Sportrock’s Headlamp Glow Climb, festive photo ops, strolling entertainment, pop-up giveaways, and sips and bites from Rio’s popular restaurants.
Attendees will have the chance to enter to win tickets to HOT 99.5’s Jingle Ball, as well as participate in a special text-to-win VIP giveaway that includes reserved seating and refreshments for four on Charley’s Patio, passes to the glow climb, and reserved parking. The evening will conclude with a fireworks show at 6:45pm, offering stunning lakefront views as the sky lights up over Gaithersburg. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and take advantage of free parking in the garages near Kohl’s and Target. Portions of the lake path and playground will close before the fireworks for safety.
