Buffalo Wild Wings at 33 Maryland Avenue, Suite C in Rockville Town Square, now known as The Square, is expected to close sometime next month, according to representatives at the location. While not confirmed, we’re told December 7 is the likely closing date.
The restaurant has been a longtime fixture in downtown Rockville, known for its wings, tenders, and signature sauces served in a sports bar atmosphere. Its closure comes as The Square continues to evolve with new tenants and restaurant concepts. Earlier this year, the development rebranded from Rockville Town Square to The Square as part of ongoing efforts to revitalize the area. Trader Joe’s opened there this summer, and Fork & Kitchen, a new American restaurant with Southern influences, is preparing to open by the end of the year in the space previously occupied by Ekó House and Bar Louie.
Buffalo Wild Wings will continue to operate in Montgomery County at 668 Clopper Road in Gaithersburg. The company has also opened two of its Buffalo Wild Wings GO carry-out locations at 16256 Frederick Road in Gaithersburg and 10518 Connecticut Avenue in Kensington. The GO format offers counter service, limited seating, and a focus on takeout and delivery while keeping the same menu of wings, tenders, and sauces.
