The holidays often bring an increase in overspending and overindulging, which can be tough when nearly 22% of U.S. adults report binge drinking in the past month and the average household carries more than $10,950 in credit card debt. To take a lighthearted look at where certain costly or risky behaviors are more common, the personal-finance company WalletHub released its annual “Most and Least Sinful Cities in the U.S.” report.
While the report uses the term “sinful” for its theme, the rankings are based strictly on measurable data across seven behavior categories: anger and hatred, jealousy, excesses and vices, greed, lust, vanity, and laziness. More than 180 of the largest U.S. cities were compared. Columbia, Maryland ranked as the least “sinful” city in the nation, coming in at No. 182 overall.
