Maman Joon, the fast-casual Persian restaurant known for its home-style kabobs and family recipes, is preparing to open a new location at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda within the next week. Preview photos, courtesy of Maman Joon, available below.
While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, the restaurant will take over the space previously home to Brio’s Chicken and, before that, Tara Thai, adding a fresh international dining option to one of the region’s busiest shopping destinations.
The upcoming Bethesda location marks the latest step in the brand’s ongoing expansion across Montgomery County. Maman Joon opened its first MoCo restaurant in Olney in 2023, operating alongside sister brand Z-Burger, and has continued to grow steadily. Earlier today (Saturday, November 22), the company opened its newest location at 15780 Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg’s 270 Center, bringing scratch-made kabobs, saffron rice dishes, stews, and vegetarian offerings to another high-traffic corridor.
At its mall location, Maman Joon is expected to offer the same menu built around fresh ingredients and spices sourced directly from Iran, along with the warm, family-centered hospitality that has become a signature of the brand.
