Holiday Task Force Reports 25 DUI Arrests and Two Firearms Recovered

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) reports that during the week of November 19–22, the Alcohol Holiday Task Force made 177 traffic stops, issued more than 400 citations and warnings, recovered two firearms, and arrested 25 people for DUI as part of its focused holiday enforcement efforts.

Per the news release: “Members of the Montgomery County Police Alcohol Holiday Task Force will be devoting their full time and attention to detecting alcohol-related offenses this holiday season. During the week of November 19–22, officers conducted 177 traffic stops and issued 201 traffic citations, 194 warnings and 19 repair orders. They also issued one civil citation, performed eight breath tests and conducted three DRE evaluations. In addition, officers recovered two firearms and arrested 25 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (DUI).

**It should be noted that the above arrests include only those arrests made by task force officers and do not include the additional arrests made by patrol officers in the performance of their duties. Therefore, the overall number of DUI arrests made by officers during this time period is higher.”
