PJ’s Coffee Begins Construction On Second Montgomery County Location

PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is moving forward with its second Montgomery County location, this time in Gaithersburg’s upcoming North Pointe at Flower Hill development. According to Maryland Newsletters, the company has secured a permit valued at $200,000 for construction to begin, with the shop expected to open in early 2026.

The new café will join the 16,000-square-foot retail and restaurant center located at 18251 Flower Hill Way, behind the shopping center that’s home to Gentleman Jim’s. North Pointe at Flower Hill is part of a broader refresh of the surrounding property, and PJ’s Coffee was among the earliest tenants announced. The upcoming Gaithersburg location was first revealed in December 2024.

Founded in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan, PJ’s Coffee has deep roots in New Orleans coffee culture. The brand emphasizes “better beans, superior roasting techniques, and pure passion for the art of coffee-making,” using only the top 1% of Arabica beans. The menu features a wide selection of hot, iced, and frozen coffee beverages, along with organic teas and fresh breakfast pastries.

The Gaithersburg shop will be PJ’s second location in the county, joining its Silver Spring café at 8621 Georgia Ave, Suite A-2. With construction now set to begin, PJ’s Coffee is on track to bring its signature New Orleans-style brews and pastries to upper Montgomery County in the near future.
