Approximately Fifty Firefighters Respond to Brush and Woods Fire

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday to a large brush and woods fire in a remote area of Blockhouse Point Park, behind a WSSC Water pump station on River Road.

According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, multiple engines, brush units, utility vehicles, and tankers were dispatched, with approximately 50 firefighters working to contain the blaze in temperatures in the 30s and 40s. Crews remained on scene to manage hotspots and ensure the fire did not spread further.
