Metro riders will have a sweeter commute this season as WMATA debuts its newest fleet of holiday-wrapped Metrorail, Metrobus, and MetroAccess vehicles. The festive designs, which will begin appearing in the coming days, feature a bright red backdrop transformed into a candy-filled winter wonderland. The theme, “making your ride sweeter,” extends inside the holiday-wrapped train, where the interior has also been decorated to match the cheerful, seasonal look.
This year’s rollout includes one specially wrapped Metrorail train, three Metrobus vehicles, and one MetroAccess vehicle. All will operate throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia during the holiday season, giving customers plenty of chances to spot the eye-catching rides along their daily routes.
Metro riders hoping to catch one of the limited-edition vehicles can track them in real time. By visiting wmata.com/live and clicking on “special edition,” customers can view where the holiday buses and train are currently running and plan their ride to experience a little extra seasonal charm.
