Montgomery County Public Schools are heading into the final stretch of 2025 with several important schedule changes, including holidays, systemwide closures, and the full winter break period.
Winter Break officially begins on Wednesday, December 24, and MCPS families should take note of the following closures, per the MCPS calendar:

Holiday. Schools and offices closed.
Winter Break. No school for students and teachers.
• Thursday, December 25, 2025
Holiday. Schools and offices closed.
Winter Break continues.
• Friday, December 26, 2025
Winter Break. No school for students and teachers.
• Monday, December 29, 2025
Winter Break. No school for students and teachers.
• Tuesday, December 30, 2025
Systemwide closure. Schools and offices closed.
• Wednesday, December 31, 2025
Systemwide closure. Schools and offices closed.
• Thursday, January 1, 2026
New Year’s Day. Schools and offices closed.
Winter Break continues.
• Friday, January 2, 2026
Winter Break. No school for students and teachers.
Arcola Elementary School will have two school-specific early release days prior to winter break:
