Maman Joon, the popular fast-casual Persian restaurant known for its home-style kabobs and family recipes, will officially open its new location at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda on Wednesday, December 17. The opening marks another step in the brand’s continued expansion across Montgomery County. Maman Joon made its local debut in Olney in 2023, operating alongside sister brand Z-Burger, and has grown steadily since. On November 22, the company opened its newest location at 15780 Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg’s 270 Center, giving more residents access to its scratch-made kabobs, stews, rice dishes, and vegetarian offerings.
Known for its emphasis on quality ingredients, Maman Joon sources many of its spices directly from Iran. The menu centers around traditional Persian flavors served in a fast-casual format, offering dishes such as koobideh kabob, saffron chicken, ghormeh sabzi, and a variety of sharable sides prepared with a home-style approach. The brand also highlights warm, family-centered hospitality that reflects the owners’ roots and culinary traditions.
With the Westfield Montgomery location, shoppers will have a new option for globally inspired dining just in time for the holiday season. The restaurant will serve the full menu that has made Maman Joon a favorite in Olney and now Gaithersburg.
