Montgomery County’s Nyanya Touray Wins 2025 NCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship With Florida State

Montgomery County native and Florida State freshman Nyanya Touray is a national champion. The former Northwood High School standout helped lead the Seminoles to a 1-0 victory over Stanford in the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship on December 8 in Kansas City, Missouri. Florida State captured the title with a late goal from Wrianna Hudson, securing the program’s fifth national championship and its third in the last five years.

Touray, who grew up in Silver Spring, played her freshman season at Northwood before focusing on club soccer with Bethesda SC in the ECNL, where she developed into one of the region’s top young midfielders. Her rise continued this fall as she became a meaningful contributor in Florida State’s run to another College Cup crown.

She played 56 minutes in the national championship match against top-ranked Stanford, part of a postseason stretch in which she logged heavy minutes and delivered key performances throughout FSU’s tournament run.

Touray finishes her freshman campaign as a 2025 National Champion and a member of the U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team that won the Four Nations Tournament earlier this year. 2025 Season Highlights for Nyanya Touray:
