Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded at 4:35 a.m. to the 26100 block of Mullinix Mill Road in Damascus after a 911 caller reported a large outside field fire with power lines down next to a home. Firefighters arrived to find the field fire had extended into the house, with flames in the attic and a bedroom.
According to MCFRS Spokesperson David Pazos, all occupants were able to evacuate safely, and one adult was confirmed uninjured. Utility crews were called to address the downed power line. The fire was reported out at approximately 5:39 a.m., and firefighters remained on scene conducting overhaul and ensuring the area was safe.
