Walt Whitman High School senior Ryan Sawyer Robbins, 17, has been named one of the Top Five finalists in Broadway World’s Next on Stage, a national musical theater competition that highlights standout high school performers from across the country. Robbins advanced through multiple elimination rounds, performing a range of musical theater selections to rise above hundreds of student competitors nationwide.
The final round of public voting runs Monday through Wednesday. Voters may cast one vote per day, and community support will play a key role in determining the winners. Top finishers can earn free theater scripts and funding for their school drama programs, along with professional work sessions with a Broadway vocal coach and a prominent casting director. At the conclusion of voting, three students will be selected to receive a trip to New York City, Broadway tickets, and the opportunity to perform live in a judged showcase at the renowned venue 54 Below.
