Construction is continuing to move forward at Whip Clean’s upcoming Gaithersburg car wash, with the company sharing a progress update on social media showing the building starting to take shape at the Festival at Muddy Branch Shopping Center. Whip Clean is still aiming for a Spring 2026 opening.
In an Instagram post shared a couple weeks ago, Whip Clean said crews have been hard at work through the holiday period as they race to get the structure vertical and under roof ahead of winter conditions. Drivers passing by the site can now see white and gray split faced block walls rising from the ground, a visible sign that the 11,378 SF facility is beginning to come together.
According to the update, work planned for the coming weeks includes completing the block walls, pouring concrete pads, and installing the roof. Whip Clean described the progress as an important step toward bringing what it calls the “ultimate car care experience” to Gaithersburg.
Once completed, the building will house a state of the art wash tunnel and an assembly line style finish bay featuring dual finish belts, designed to take vehicles from dirty to clean, and from clean to dry, shiny, and protected. The company emphasized that the goal is to combine high end equipment with a strong focus on customer service and satisfaction.
As previously reported, Whip Clean broke ground on the project over the summer after the City of Gaithersburg Planning Commission approved the final site plan in November 2024. The car wash is being built on a vacant lot along Muddy Branch Road, across from Lotte Market and next to Best Friends Pet Resort, within the shopping center that also includes Planet Fitness and Family Dollar.
The Gaithersburg location marks a continued expansion for Whip Clean, which first opened in Bowie in 2017 before that location was sold to Flagship Carwash in 2023. Another Whip Clean site is also planned for Severn. The company is targeting a Spring 2026 opening for the Gaithersburg car wash and says it looks forward to welcoming neighbors once construction is complete.
