Haraz Coffee House to Open First Maryland Locations in Early 2026

After a somewhat sluggish start, interior construction has picked up at Burtonsville Crossing, and it now appears increasingly likely that Haraz Coffee House will open in early 2026.

In November 2024, we first reported that Haraz Coffee House, a Yemeni coffee shop, would be opening its first Maryland location at Burtonsville Crossing, located at 15701 Columbia Pike. At the time, the Burtonsville shop was initially projected to open in September 2025, but the timeline has since been pushed back as buildout progressed more slowly than anticipated.

Since that initial announcement, Haraz Coffee House has shared that it has signed agreements for a total of 12 locations across Maryland. In addition to the Burtonsville shop, other Maryland locations expected to open soon include Perry Hall at 8700 Cowenton Ave. and Towson at 101 York Rd.

Haraz Coffee House is known for its Yemeni-inspired coffee and tea offerings. The menu includes specialty drinks such as the Harazi, made with coffee, Manofwar cardamom, and cream, as well as Adeni or Karak chai, a black tea blended with cream and Haraz spices. The café also serves espresso-based drinks and a selection of pastries, including milk cake and Istanbul cheesecake drizzled with Nutella.

The brand currently operates franchise locations in several states, including California, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, New York, Texas, and Virginia, and reports that more than 120 additional locations are under development nationwide.

We will continue to share updates as Haraz Coffee House releases more details on its Maryland expansion and as the Burtonsville location moves closer to opening.
