Bethesda-Based Brivo Expands Global Reach With Major AI Security Merger

Bethesda-based security technology company Brivo (7700 Old Georgetown Rd.) is set to significantly expand its global footprint following the announcement of a major merger that will create the world’s largest AI cloud-native physical security company.

On Monday, Brivo Chairman Dean Drako announced that Brivo will merge with Eagle Eye Networks, a global leader in cloud-based AI video surveillance. The combined company will operate under the Brivo name and deliver a fully unified, cloud-native physical security platform that brings together access control, video intelligence, visitor management, and intrusion detection into a single system.

According to Drako, the merger is designed to simplify and strengthen the customer experience. He said customers will benefit from one integrated solution, one support team, and a single business relationship, allowing organizations to centralize security operations across entire enterprises.

Brivo Founder Steve Van Till said the merger formalizes a long-standing partnership and shared vision between the two companies. Van Till noted that aligning operations will allow the company to move faster, improve service for customers, and help resellers operate more efficiently in a rapidly evolving security market.

The newly merged company will continue Brivo’s commitment to an open platform, maintaining support for third-party video and access control solutions rather than locking customers into a closed ecosystem. Leadership roles have also been defined as part of the merger. Drako will serve as Chief Executive Officer of Brivo, while Van Till will take on the role of President.

While the merger brings together operations across the globe, Bethesda will remain a central hub for the company. Brivo will continue to maintain its U.S. headquarters in Bethesda, alongside a second U.S. headquarters in Austin, Texas. Additional offices are located in Lehi, Utah, as well as internationally in Amsterdam, Bangalore, and Tokyo.
