Chick-fil-A at Montrose Crossing to Temporarily Close for Renovations

Chick-fil-A at Montrose Crossing (12001 Rockville Pile) will temporarily close later this month for a major renovation, with plans to reopen in mid-March.

According to a notice posted by the restaurant online, the Chick-fil-A Montrose Crossing location will close beginning January 17, 2026, and is scheduled to reopen on March 15, 2026. The restaurant is located in the Montrose Crossing shopping center in North Bethesda/Rockville.

The closure comes a little more than 12 years after the restaurant first opened in October 2013, marking its first significant refresh since debuting. While Chick-fil-A has not released specific details about the renovations, similar projects at other Montgomery County locations have focused on kitchen upgrades, improved drive-thru efficiency (for the locations that have one), and interior modernization.

Montrose Crossing is not the only local Chick-fil-A to undergo renovations in recent years. The Downtown Silver Spring location at 825 Ellsworth Drive (Lot D1-A) closed for approximately four months during the first half of 2025 for a full remodel. The Tech Road Chick-fil-A in the Calverton/Fairland/White Oak area temporarily closed in 2023, and the Germantown location followed with its own renovation closure in early 2024.

In addition to refreshing existing restaurants, Chick-fil-A continues to expand in Montgomery County. The company is currently working toward new locations in Germantown and Clarksburg.
