MCPD Reports 28 DUI Arrests During New Year’s Enforcement Effort

During the week of December 31, 2025 through January 3, 2026, Montgomery County Police Department task force officers conducted 307 traffic stops, issued hundreds of citations and warnings, and arrested 28 individuals for driving under the influence, in addition to other alcohol-related enforcement actions.

Per the news release distributed on Tuesday, January 6: “During the week of December 31, 2025 – January 3, 2026, officers made 307 traffic stops and issued 366 traffic citations, 408 warnings and 29 repair orders. They also issued two alcohol restriction violations and a civil alcohol citation.

In addition, officers performed six breath tests, made three criminal arrests and arrested 28 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (DUI).

**It should be noted that the above arrests include only those arrests made by task force officers and do not include the additional arrests made by patrol officers in the performance of their duties. Therefore, the overall number of DUI arrests made by officers during this time period is higher.”
