A fundraiser has been launched to support employees of Crabcake Factory Bayside, which remains closed following a vehicle crash that caused significant damage to the restaurant’s kitchen area.
The fundraiser was created by regular customers and supporters of the restaurant to help employees cover living expenses during the shutdown. Organizers say all funds raised will go directly to staff, with distributions managed by the restaurant’s owners.
The incident occurred Sunday afternoon, January 4, 2026, when a car struck the building, forcing the waterfront restaurant to close until repairs can be completed and it is safe to reopen. The closure is expected to have a direct financial impact on staff members who rely on the restaurant for their income.
“We, the regulars and dedicated patrons, need to lend a hand and help them during this challenging time,” the fundraiser description states, encouraging the community to donate whatever they are able.
Crabcake Factory Bayside is located at 37314 Lighthouse Road on the West Fenwick waterfront. It is the sister restaurant to the Original Crabcake Factory and Crabcake Factory West in Ocean City, remain opens. A timeline for repairs or reopening at the Bayside location has not yet been announced.
