The Macy’s located at 7900 Ritchie Hwy in Glen Burnie, MD, will be one of 14 stores across the country that the retailer will be closing, according a report by AXIOS.
Last week, Macy’s CEO Tony Spring told employees that Macy’s, Inc.’s “Bold New Chapter” strategy is showing measurable progress, citing improved performance in core stores, strong luxury brand growth, higher customer satisfaction scores, and operational improvements through supply chain investments. He also said the company will continue making targeted changes, including closing underperforming stores and streamlining operations, to focus resources on stronger locations, customer experience, and long-term growth.
Clearance sales are expected to begin later this month.
Macy’s has remaining Maryland locations in Annapolis, Bethesda, Bowie, Columbia, Frederick, Hyattsville, Nottingham, Towson, Waldorf, and Wheaton.
