One Maryland Restaurant Makes Jan. 2026 List of “Best New Restaurants”

Terra Gaucha is continuing to earn recognition in the area, becoming the only Maryland restaurant to be named to Eater DC’s list of Best New Restaurants for January 2026. A video of the experience can be seen below.

The Brazilian steakhouse officially opened its doors in Rockville on Sunday, December 28, and marked the milestone with a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony this past week. The recognition places Terra Gaucha among the most notable new dining destinations in the greater DC region just weeks after opening.

Located at 1651 Chapman Ave in Rockville’s new Twinbrook Quarter development, Terra Gaucha represents the brand’s first Maryland location and its debut in the DC market. The restaurant is the company’s sixth U.S. location overall.

Terra Gaucha is known for its traditional Southern Brazilian churrasco and rodízio-style dining experience. Gaucho chefs circulate the dining room carving wood-fired cuts tableside, including favorites like picanha, filet mignon, ribeye, and large beef ribs. The experience is complemented by a Gourmet Hot & Cold Table featuring more than 50 Brazilian and international offerings, including salads, cheeses, charcuterie, classic sides, and desserts such as the signature Papaya Cream.

Eater praised the new Rockville restaurant in its January roundup, writing, “Move over, Fogo de Chao. Terra Gaucha touched down in the mid-Atlantic last month with its sixth U.S. location to date in Rockville, Maryland. The new Southern Brazilian churrasco experience ($59.95 for dinner and $39.95 at lunch) features at least eight cuts of beef at any given time, from filet mignon to gigantic beef ribs.”
